It’s September and whew, I’m worked!
Its been a great summer and an unbelievably busy August. The weather was challenging at times, but over all August really rocked. Did you get a chance to check out the Breck Epic? The Poker Rider during Breck Bike Week was a hoot! And Breckenridge made its mark as a premier Host City for the USA Pro Challenge – Breck Stage 5 finish! Check out photo from the Moonstone climb, Strider Challenge and Funkadelic Pond Crossing. Make plans now to be here in August 2015!
Look out for Breckenridge local, Pro Xterra tri-athlete and mountain biker, Jaime Brede, and learn how she makes racing look easy even under pressure. And finally, guest blogger, Henry Boyd, gives us a kid’s review of the Frisco Bike Park.
What’s Happening in September?
The best kept secret in mountain bike racing is this weekend! The Fall Classic on Sunday, September 7th! A fun challenging course, but shorter then the Firecracker 50 … just right!
The trails are in great condition and there are still plenty of nice warm days ahead of us . It’s the perfect time to ride as the crowds and traffic lighten up, the nights get just a bit cooler and the leaves begin to turn beautiful tones of yellow, orange and deep red. A few favorite fall foliage rides (say that five times) : Boreas Pass Rd and The Mini Mine loop.
Do not miss Breckenridge’s 20th Annual Octoberfest, September 12th – 14th! A fun-filled weekend of fall colors, great parties, Paulaner Bier, genuine German cuisine and collectible steins!
And when the trees start to look bare, the chill in the air hangs on till noon and you find yourself day dreaming of summer extending road trips to Moab, Ut or Zion National Park, you will know that October is finally upon us. Consider staying close to home…check out Avalanche Ranch in RedStone, Colorado and get back with me … I would love your review.
As always, I would love to hear from you with comments, suggestions and ideas. I appreciate you taking the time out of your busy day to read this useletter and want to make it information you look forward to reading.
Get out and enjoy it!
