July 2015 Useletter

It seems like a whirlwind of riding, races and trails since Summer finally broke through in June.  The weather has been perfect and everyone has joined in the fun.  I am relaxing on my front porch as I write July’s Useletter.  The shade and ice water are nice as I just returned from the trail.

I love going barefoot, biking and all of the extraordinary colorful people you see in
Breckenridge in Summertime.

I am psyched to share with you some of Bikenridge’s best local flavor…

Local rider Matt Powers is training for the Breck Epic.  Find out why he is one of the BEST Riders you have NEVER heard about.  Want to get faster on the climbs?  Steve Lipsher, local rider, and writer, shared tips on How to get Faster Going Uphill.  (this will make you smile!)

July in Bikenridge

Breckenridge is just overflowing with art, activities and events in July.  It’s the heart of the summer season!

Many cyclists descend into Breckenridge this time of year.  Rider are pre-riding the Firecracker 50 (July 4th) and The Breck 100 (July 18th) courses, road riding the endless miles of rec path with plans to ride the Circle the Summit in August and then more recreational riders cruise around Breck or hit some of the local in town trails … So much fun!

I was on the challenging town trail called Jacks Cruel Joke yesterday and what a view!  It was a grind and I must admit I walked the super rocky section but enjoyed all of the wildflowers! They are all popping!

The Summit Mountain Challenge is in full swing with two local Wednesday night races in July.

July 15th – The Keystone uphill/downhill double time trial
July 29th – The Pennsylvania Gulch GrindFor race information, check out Mavsports.com

Women’s Wednesday at Keystone  and Mountain Bike Mondays are back!  Yay!
Be sure to check out the Climbbetty page for details.

Behind the Scenes

VIDA Clinic
FUN at the VIDA Core Clinic

You may remember that I committed to the Beti Bike Bash and VIDA MTB Series 1 Day Core Clinic in June.  Read why I think every lady rider should experience a VIDA MTB Series clinic.

Have you ever watched a sporting event and deep down thought, “I want to try that?”  If that event happened to be mountain biking then check out the Bet Bike Bash – The largest mountain bike race for women!

Finally, I had the chance to demo the NEW Yeti Beti ASRc and SB5c. I loved them both, but thinking the Yeti Beti SB5c is my favorite … now I just need a sponsor 😉

As always, I appreciate you taking this time out of your day, your comments and suggestions are always welcome. Have a safe and Happy 4th of July!

Enjoy the Climb!
