February 2015 – Useletter

Hi All,
Wow, it’s hard to believe it’s already February and one step closer to spring!  January was our month to celebrate SNOW. Our nod to the Norse Winter God, Ullr Fest, was as zany as usual and Ullr Bike under the stars proved popular with the Fat Bike masses.

The International Snow Sculpture Championship wrapped up on Saturday, but the sculptures will stand (weather permitting) until late in the week. I was really impressed with the Fire & Ice twist to the snow sculpture event this year.  The Fire Arts flaming transformers-meets-aliens sculpture, fiery dancers with funky music mix gave a boost to the evening.  This is NEW! The Fire Arts Festival continues on February 5th.  Check it out!  BRECK CREATE is getting its wings!

tandembikecoupleLove is in the air this month, and with love comes wedding proposals. Since a few of you might be thinking about tying the knot and you LOVE BIKES, I thought this Bicycle-Themed Weddings blog might be of interest to you. I really enjoyed it and plan on using a few of the ideas for summer Bike-themed BBQ!

Cajuns like to escape the ultra-insanity of New Orleans for the masks, boas and beads of a Breckenridge Mardi Gras, Fat Tuesday Celebration is Tuesday, February 17th.

I took some time to surf the web this past weekend and found some blogs and links that sparked my attention. Bike safety is always important, but as we inch closer to spring and warm days entice riders of all ages out on the roads, driver awareness needs to be in the forefront for everyone. Is the new Jaguar Land Rover tap on the shoulder technology the answer?

I am SO excited to go camping. I love the spring camping trips to Moab or Arizona, and these Big Agnes mtnGLO tents with LED lights look awesome! If you don’t want the entire tent, they also have a lights only option. (Become a REI member and get more $$ back) Why didn’t I think of that?

Any thoughts and comments are appreciated.

With Love in February,
Courtney
