October 2017 Bikenridge Useletter

October in Bikenridge!

And just like that, it’s October! I sincerely hope you were able to get out on the trails to enjoy the amazing fall colors this season.  It has been a spectacular couple of weeks in Breckenridge.  If you time it right, there is still some excellent riding to be had in Breck. The trails are wide open and the dirt is primed.

This will make you smile.

SKIDSVILLE – This excellent short film from Diamondback and Mike Hopkins shows how a young rider progresses into a shredder.

What’s Happening!

Exciting Stuff in Breckenridge!
Dia de los Muertos – October 20 – 22  A three-day celebration of the Day of the Dead with face painting, workshops, and installations. The celebration kicks off with an Opening Night Party on Friday, October 20th. The evening will feature free traditional face painting, music, food, cash bar and a reception for Stevon and Arlette Lucero, whose exhibit will be on view at the Old Masonic Hall through October.
The Breckenridge Craft Spirits FestivalOctober 20 – 22  In its 8th year and features small-batch distillers, artisan spirit seminars, a spirited cooking class, scavenger hunt, fine local cuisine and of course, plenty of sampling. Tickets are on sale now!

Create your own adventure.  Create your own adventures in Breckenridge or extend your season and check out a little warmer climate in Salida or Moab.  I plan to ride the White Rim Trail near Canyonlands National Park in Utah. Can’t wait! Always check the Trail Conditions and the weather before you head out!

Blood Road:
To wrap up this season, I am going to suggest you seek out the film Blood Road about Rebecca Rusch’s, four-time Leadville 100 MTB race champion, emotional and physically grueling bike adventure through South East Asia. Blood Road won Best Adventure Film at the Breckenridge Film Festival. I was moved multiple times during the movie and it left me feeling grateful and inspired.

THANK YOU for another great season of Bikenridge. If you have any suggestions or ideas for the 2018 season,  we are interested and want to hear from you!

Feel free to share this useletter with your friends.

Enjoy the Climb!
